Pack the basics that make daily life comfortable:
- Comfortable, casual clothing for about a week (laundry is available)
- A light jacket or sweater for indoor temperature changes
- Sneakers and slip-on shoes
- Photo ID and insurance card
- Current prescriptions in their original labeled bottles
- A small amount of cash for incidentals
- Preferred toiletries (unopened when possible)
Some items are better left at home. It keeps the space calm and everyone's belongings secure:
- Alcohol-based products, including certain mouthwashes and perfumes
- Valuables and expensive jewelry
- Weapons or sharp objects
- Outside food or drinks
